In His hands
These two letters carry such heaviness, don’t they? They conjure up much in our imaginations. Anxiety taps at our hearts seeking an invitation.
“IF” leaves no stone unturned in our lives. It taunts our future, shames us in our past and offers up pretense in the present.
“What if” paints pictures in shadow evoking dread yet God can use that same shadow to highlight beauty in ours and loved ones’ lives.
“If only” drags us down memory lane seeking to define or limit our present and future. Yet when surrendered to God; we find peace and freedom where all is made new.
(Redeemed and forgiven allows our past to be a vehicle of hope in others’ lives.)
“As if ” pretends all is in our control. Our action, inaction and that of others hinges upon our own strength, wisdom and perfection. Yet God… He alone is on the throne and at work.
Matthew 6:26-27 NIV
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
